Robbie Basho / Leo Kottke - what to check out?
Been listening to the wonderful music of John Fahey lately and since I heard that these two artist were making similar and equally powerful music, can you recommend me any of their albums worth checking out?
Thanks |
everything i've heard by basho is excellent and i kind of prefer him to fahey, but i find his records tricky to locate, so i've only heard mp3s from soulseek

That's a great blog, Nefeli. I posted it on here a while ago. I should have put it on the 'mp3 blogs of interest' thread. Thanks for reminding me of it.

thanks a milion !!! |
Robbie Basho is amazing. I like his stuff just a wee bit better than Fahey's... the vocals put it over the top for me.. "Wine Song" and "roses and gold" are too amazing for words.

Basho - The Grail and the Lotus

I like the Basho stuff ive heard without his singing. I get the impression this is a common complaint. Theyve just reissued one of his later albums which sounds pretty nice.

and try some Peter Walker .
he is A M A Z I N G . |
I notice there are references to a blog Nefili posted, but has obviously been removed after her recent deletion. I dunno if this is the one she was referring to but it has some good stuff on it.
