Albums produced by Steve Albini

Which ones are your favourite? It's pointless to make a poll because there are too many. Mine are:

The Jesus Lizard - Pure
Pussy Galore - Dial M For Motherfucker
Gastr Del Sol - Mirror Repair (Ok, it's not really an album but...)
Palace Brothers - Viva Last Blues
Oxbow - Let Me Be A Woman
Nirvana - In Utero
Electrelane - Axes
The Auteurs - After Murder Park
Uzeda - 4
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Bedhead - Transaction De Novo
Low - Things We Lost In The Fire

Let me think of some more and then i'll edit the post.

PJ Harvey - Rid of Me

amazing record; the sound convinced kurt that steve albini was the man for in utero!

MellySingsDoom 04.28.2007 12:14 PM

Album "recorded" by S Albini that is, in my opnion, not very good at all: The Stooges "The Weirdness".

Let's not get too anal, now.;)

Ha ha ha!

Albini also had a hand in recording Whitehouse's "Thank Your Lucky Stars" LP. Did he not record/produce a session for Tony Conrad as well? I can't remember what it was called (something to do with Pythagoras), but the CD was on Table Of the Elements.

Yes he did, but unfortunately i've never heard it. Thanks for reminding me of that, i'll have to buy it, at one point.

He didn't record spiderland. He worked on Tweez.

I think albini also recorded Whitehouse's Twice is not enough. I haven't heard any other whitehouse albums so I don't know how it compares to them.

It's a great record but i prefer the demo versions of some of the songs on it. Still, it's a good record, so don't get me wrong.

Dead-Air 04.28.2007 01:42 PM
