when there's a dinosaur jr thread every week and every thread that's not about them, there are posts after posts of that band, well it's a little upsetting.

well, their album just released. buzz is high.

except for the new album, it's horrible.

i'm on there too. been a fan a long time, and the new album is pretty amazing considering it's a "reunion" album. hands down, the dino reunion blows all other reunion bands out of the water (pixies anyone??).

Are you serious? What's so bad about it? Sounds like Bug, which is a great album.

I keep all my Einstuerzende Neubauten posting to one thread - If people would do the same with Dino Jr, Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, etc, then the sheer quantity of posts about those bands would be a darn sight less irritating.

But the main thing that's irritating about all those threads is that those bands seem to be all that some people listen to, which is a hell of a waste when you consider how many other fantastic, and much more current, bands there are out there.

Yes, look at what i did with The Velvet Underground. Not that there are THAT MANY threads about them, but it is a pain in the butt to go and search for other threads that were started about them all the time. The problem is not so much that there is a handful of posters who obviously don't listen to anything else but The Stooges, Dinosaur Jr etc, but more the fact that they start 5 threads about them every day to just say fuck all. If you have nothing interesting to say or any fresh information about the band, it'd be nice if you say nothing at all.

I would apologize but I just realized I've only made that one Smashing Pumpkins thread (sorry?) and that's it. One Dino thread would be spiffy.

it sounds like j playing uninspired solos with a little mumbling in between. without the songs.

i felt it was rushed and badly written, i think i remember just one melody on the whole album, not a good sign.
