Help me choose a task for my art kids
 

I have my art classes in a few hours and i cant work out what i want to get them to do.
Last week they made abstract paintings by blowing water colour paints with a straw over the page...Can you think of anything we could do with them?

The kids are from yrs 1 to 6 and its just a fun after school art lessons

have them fingerpaint an impressionist portrait of whoever is sitting next to them.

i love fingerpainting.

maybe you could play some music and have them paint what they think it would look like.

mm iv often thought of things like that, especially the music one, but the thing with the kids is as big as an imagination as they have they still struggle to think of things to draw even when i try inpsire them with things around the room

I think ill get the kids that dont have a folio to make one, and the kids that do, well im not sure yet

only had 3 kids today, its usualy about 9..must of growled to much last week :D

finger painting, hand prints etc or get them to each draw or paint a little bit of a larger picture.

get them to draw from their imagination but you set a specific task like drawing their dream house or something like that.

mm but we have free drawing at the start of class and they do that kind of stuff first.

The tasks need to be sort of educational, teaching them skills and stuff.

I do get them to draw sometimes with out taking the pen off the page, or not looking back at the page when drawing.

Its just that sometimes when the moms come in to pick their kids up i feel like i have robbed them of 10$ when the kids have just drawn some stick figures doing a poo

well there's a book called drawing on the right side of the brain that has some exercises in it that would probably be suitable for kids. and it would make them better at drawing too.
