I'm a huge fan of John Kricfalusi. I read his blog all the time.
In case you don't know who he is, he created Ren and Stimpy, The Ripping Friends, and did the videos for Bjork's I Miss You, the Stone's Harlem Shuffle, and Weird Al's Close But No Cigar.

He's doing a presentation this Friday in Chicago. He'll be playing classic cartoons and his own cartoons and introing them all. It should be a blast.

Bill Plimpton is doing the same thing the following day.

Wow, I wish I could attend that. I'd love to hear John K speak.

I had the pleasure of hearing Bill Plimpton speak and met him briefly a couple of years ago. I'd recommend people in the area with a vague interest in cartoons to check it out. Bill has some pretty interesting stuff to say about Disney.
