The Scott Walker appreciation thread
Damn! I missed most of the Scott Walker: 30 Century Man documentary on tv this week. Gonna order it, 'cause the bit I saw was quite intriguing. I know a little about his time with The Walker Brothers, but his solo career is sausage to me.
Anyone care to elaborate on his work and recommend some solo albums that I should listen to? |
THE DRIFT
|
The Drift is great, but maybe not the ideal place to start. How about Scott 4 as an intro?

I saw that documentary the other night, he's such a unique character. It was also cool to find out he spent time in a monastery on the Isle of Wight, i had no idea.
I havent heard too much of his stuff, but i do own The Drift and it's an incredible record. |

i appreciate. |
the first one i ever heard was the drift and i'm in total love with the man.

If you can find a copy of "Till The Band Comes In" (his LP after 'Scott 4'), pick it up - there's some good tunes on that.

Tilt, like the Drift, is quite as close to genius as you'll find.
Appreciate. |
The brilliant electronic musician, Ulrich Schnauss, did a cover of Scott Walker's "It's Raining Today".
