hardly, he was probably more lucky to marry her.

anyway, her book Grapefruit is amazing, and approximately infinite universe is a very good album.

There's a Yoko Ono book and CD package called "Yes" which is apparently very good.

So far the only Yoko I own is the POB album. I've considered other stuff, but have never gotten around to it.

I would certainly put Rising in the "great" category. The band behind her is IMA which was Sean Lennon's group at the time, with former Olympian Timo Ellis on bass. Really powerful rock album with Yoko providing vocals that only she could do.

Damn straight.

The only 'music' I've ever enjoyed of her's was an album called 'Silence'.

Oh how I wish !

Sorry, I could never identify with her art.

pantophobia 06.02.2007 08:14 PM

personally i like Fly more then any of Lennon's solo efforts

she is quite good live too

Androol 06.02.2007 11:51 PM

"why" is possibly one of the most important songs in music history i shit you not.

I love Yoko.
DR666: if you liked "Fly" I say go for the whole package and buy the Ono Box. It's six albums plus one interesting book with all the lyrics.
But, if you don't want to spend so much money (I don't even know if the Ono Box is still available), go for: "Plastic Ono Band" (the Ono one, there's another one by Lennon with the same title), "Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions" (with John Lennon), 2-Disc "Approximately Infinite Universe" (that's more song-formatted, and excellent), "It's alright (I see rainbows)", which is rad, and try to get the other things she did in collaboration with John Lennon (which are also available on Ono Box CD "Yes, yes, yes".)
But the Box has pretty much all you want to listen to, and properly divided too, experimental, solo, with Lennon, after Lennon, and also "A Story" with some delicious bonus tracks. My favorite is "We're all water"...
Just enjoy.

I agree with that one...

I find her very uninspiring.

Everyneurotic 06.03.2007 10:13 PM

her plastic ono band album is fantastic.
