Read, Danny, read...

Hello

the yod site will be more or less shuttered for renovations during the summer months of 2006. much reorganization needs to be done and we feel it's best if this is done in the shadows. the store will still be open (fitfully) by appointment, which can be obtained by writing websales@yod.com or calling 413-587-9400. we will be continuing to buy used and new material during this period, so let us know what you have.

we'll continue to do all regular wholesale and label stuff during this period. and generally. material from father yod, ecstatic yod, glass eye books and carnage press should be available from: forced exposure, revolver, surefire, carrot top, fusteron, volanic tongue, time-lag, eclipse or scratch. we'll be hanging up some new pages of in-house productions, plus we're helping joe carducci sell the punk singles collection left by sst staff photographer, naomi peterson.

we'll send out updates as this & that occur. if you're not on the mailing list & would like to be, write.

cheers,
yod

Oh. I didn't actually read, I just saw the page load and clicked x. I am a busy man, Sonicl.

sonicl 06.18.2007 06:55 AM

Sorry, Danny. I wouldn't want boring old facts to get in the way of your nicking car stereos.

Whatever pays the bills, Sonicl. You know that.

A couple of months ago this appeared on Sunburned's myspace:

"Job Alert: John Moloney will be taking over the Corsano / Gown Spot at Byron Coley's Ecstatic Yod which has been dormant for about a year. The store will be back online as soon as the new website is up, could be soon, could be later."

So apparently Yod's not completely dead yet, just in a deep coma. John Moloney seems a busy man though. If that means that orders will be on hold every time he's on tour with Sunburned, Howlin Rain and whatever else he's in (probably no longer in Six Organs?) then it looks like Yod won't be open much of the year.

You're sounding more and more like Derek Hatton every day.

(That was aimed at Danny, by the way)

Good Lord. I best change my image.

good, because I don't know who he is and don't feel much like googling at the moment.

Who knows... maybe tomorrow. Don't have a lot of time today and I should really be doing other things than reading and posting on the Sonic Youth board right now.

yod is definitely open for business. john moved out there the other month and has been cleaning out the piles and piles of stuff on ebay. i guess there is a lot of organizing to be done, but he said he's there for at least a year...
