I completely agree. I'm already going to this, so this would make it perfect.

Sonic Youth aren't even signed to Virgin. Although, just entertaining the thought of them making an appearance would truly be spectacular!

Half or more of the bands playing aren't signed to Virgin. Hell, look at the Smashing Pumpkins, they've had a feud with Virgin in the past and they're headlining!

And yet Mr. Anti-Corporate Billy Corgan is releasing 4 different versions of the same album, each to be sold exclusively at different stores for the purpose of? Lots of fucking money. So let's not get too ahead of ourselves here.

I think it's important to look at how fan-friendly Smashing Pumpkins and Billy Corgan specifically have been throughout their career. They released an entire album + EP's on the Internet for FREE in 2000, Billy has leaked countless demos and discarded tracks, and they donated an entire tour's worth of profits to charities in 1998.

I doubt this was Billy's doing.

eh so, how is this any different than alot of other bands who contribute to charity?

Corgan is still an asshole in my eyes and openly said alot of nasty shit about other so-called "influential" bands to him in the mid to late 90's. and its been documented where in the past he's had an arrogant and bad attitude to his fans, not to include that his music sounds as good as pure cat piss smells.
