Ashtray Navigations looking for gigs in August

LOOKING FOR GIGS IN AUGUST

Hello! ASHTRAY NAVIGATIONS, long running UK psychedelic drone/noise/power electronics/blues/whatever troupe are attempting to organise a UK tour (our, um, first UK tour in 13 years...) between Aug 6th and Aug 20th this year and are LOOKING FOR GIGS.

We'll be a duo for this one and have very few requirements. Two or three loud amplifiers, a place to stay and travel costs would be a nice start. How about it? Or maybe you know someone else that would?

either way, please get in touch -ashtraynavigations@hotmail.com

Ashtray Navigations! "sub-aquatic synth bubble, busted-up cassette-tape hiss and distorted electric guitar hover that sounds like a mythical god banished from the realm of light and trying desperately to clamber his/her way out of a dark bottomless void where time itself stands still." - James Blackshaw, Foxy Digitalis

Ashtray Navigations! "Todd's mastery of everything even remotely in tune with psychedelia is here in its spangled, sprawlin' glory though he never shoots even so much as a backwards glance - Ashtray Navigations are pushing on into the 41st century and bucking "revivalism" so hard I got saddle sores" - Outer Space Gamelan

Ashtray Navigations! "a trashcan antidote to LaMonte Young." - The Wire

Cuz I'm in the states and sadly doesn't matter a bit. It is about time they get to the US as a trio at least.

Yes!! Dear Ashtray: You should check out the following for gig opportunities in Western Massachusetts:

autonomousbattleshipcollective.org

flywheelarts.org (though they are sort of on a hiatus?)

breakingworldrecords.com

they'll be able to help you/guide you to a gig or two for sure

Thanks!

How come? Some bad blood?

i am still excited even though the dates are annoyingly inconveniant. i'm in london from the 21st august onwards...
they'd probably get aload more tickets sold if they played in london around the time of the SY dates... shucks.

you could say that. at the termite club festival in leeds (organised by phil) they (smell and quim) where the first band on and decided to destroy a pigs head, generally fool around and then set fire to it. the landlord and soundguy where not best pleased and cancelled the whole thing on the spot despite people having travelled from very far to either play or watch. so they had to re orgainse the whole weekend on the spot. not happy is what i hear everyone was at them.

some ropey footage exists on youtube of the event, if you type in smell and quim. and indeed here it is:http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nYvVZAWb6fU
