Farewell to London from Me

Oh well, lived here all my life but person I'm renting my flat from is selling it at a price I can't afford. London prices generally are way too high to stay here even as a tenent. So it's gonna be a sad farewell to a great city that I've always referred to as home. Suburban boredom, here I come.:(

nicfit 06.23.2007 03:39 PM

Awwwwww, that sounds not good... where will you move to?

demonrail666 06.23.2007 03:44 PM

Fuck knows. I'm so fucking pissed off right now. I'll probably end up in some suburban fucking shit-hole, surrounded by fucking chavs. FUCK!

nicfit 06.23.2007 03:51 PM

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Well, I hope you'll have some time to find a place to stay before being kicked out by the house owner... or will they find a guy hanged under the london bridge soon?

You could move to a completely different but cheaper city.

And a big fuck you to all those who've moved in and managed to hike the prices up to the point where no actual Londoners can afford to live there anymore.

I feel for you man.
But even suburbia ain't cheap.
I live in Chav central (Crawley) and house prices round here are fucking astronomical! Mainly because of Crawley's 'excellent transport links'.

So, people are willing to pay top dollar to live in a place because it's easy to get away from? That's twisted.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.

You could move to Berlin and be a visiting lecturer in residence, and teach those zany Krauts a thing of two about film, innit. Think about all those lovely Teutonic frauleins you could shag, too.

good luck with the move, its heartbreak to leave a city you love. the first time i had to leave berlin i was distraught.

demonrail666 06.24.2007 06:56 AM

If that was possible (and don't think I haven't thought about it) I'd be there before you could shout 'Achtung'

OK, give me a few years, and I'll move over there. Maybe you could move into my broom cupboard Zimmer. Cue wacky adventures etc.

I think it's true that most people currently living in major cities are holding on by their fingernails. I know New York's like London, where people are just finding it harder and harder to justify the costs. And London's even worse because at least in somewhere like NY, once you've paid your rent, living expenses are relatively cheap, in London EVERYTHING costs a bomb.

jon boy 06.24.2007 07:29 AM

thing is berlin is very, very cheap but there are virtually no jobs. its a great city but it really gets on your nerves after a while.

House share with 10 other renters or squat. It's the only way if you're on less than 30 grand a year.
