Great/Favorite Guitar Tuners

I need to buy a new tuner soon, my old one is junk. Any recommendations for a tuner that will work with both acoustic and electric, or should i buy 2 separately?

buy an acoustic guitar pickup (Dean Markley)
buy a Boss Tuner, one of the very few Boss pedals worth getting.
the rest of their line is OVERRATED SHIT.

I have a Korg tuner that is amazing. True bypass, built like a tank, super sensitive. You would need a pickup for acoustic though. I vastly prefer my Korg to the boss TU-2.

I have the same Erik, Korg DT-10. I stress it little bit but it works good. it should cost less though.
now I'm looking for a good FREE chromatic tuner for OS X but I cant found one good, if someone has it could post a link on this thread?

I have the Boss TU-2 and I really like it. It also powers all my pedals, which is handy.

Boss Blues Driver isn't overrated. But it is shit, THE SHIT.

On the subject of tuner pedals, I heard the Peterson Strobostomp is pretty awesome.

I have rarely met a Boss pedal I liked.

i use this:

for gigging, my zoom 509 dual modulation pedal has a built in tuner, i use that.

Glice 05.01.2006 03:53 PM

I use two of these:

Because I have good hearing and very good pitch. A top tip a classical musician gave me was to use two of the above and don't rely on electric tuners - tuners break down, and ears don't... and if your ears don't work, you really should not be a musician.

nb - actual ear much hairier than one shown.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.01.2006 05:46 PM

So Beethoven should have just quit?

CHOUT 05.01.2006 05:50 PM

I have pretty good pitch too. I can tune a guitar by ear probably not exact, but close to the right pitch.

No, but then he had the most impeccable technical understanding, and it's often neglected that he played the piano, which is playable by the deaf by dint of vibrations. And it was only in his later career that he was deaf, his hearing was shaped by an abstract impression of what he understood better than anyone else, arguably, throughout history. He can be forgiven.

Sorry, I didn't mean to get all anal about a 'witty' aside.
