For fuck's sake. Ugh.

There's too many near misses. Something big is gonna kick off.

Yeah.. scary indeed.

ALIEN ANAL 06.30.2007 10:55 AM

obviously you all are, but just hope all you english lads are ok and staying safe

demonrail666 06.30.2007 11:05 AM

Both events have failed to do any real damage because of luck rather than police intervention. That's what bothers me.

pokkeherrie 06.30.2007 11:46 AM

Luck or just people keeping their eyes open?
Plus severe incapability on the attackers' part it seems. It all looks a bit amateuristic.

Which is lucky for us, i suppose.

pokkeherrie 06.30.2007 11:59 AM

Yes.
In the end you could define everything back to being lucky or unlucky.

SynthethicalY 06.30.2007 12:06 PM

Hope you European Guys are ok. I wonder if there would be a wider attack on you guys. Or here in America.

That's terrorism to you.

It's like the opposite version of winning the lottery. The chance it will happen to you is extremely small but it's on a lot of peoples' minds.

Anyway, what's interesting now is what's going to happen next. After three failures it's very well possible that the people who are behind this are going to try again until they succeed. On the other hand police have many leads now (one arrest, a dead body, three cars they can trace including two unexploded with possible DNA, fingerprints, etc.) so hopefully they can catch the bastards soon.

edit: second attacker isn't dead yet. i must've misheard that earlier.

I just read that all the airport security guys had to overwhelm the attackers was cs gas, i.e. no guns. Is that true? Do guards in Britain have no guns?

sonicl 07.02.2007 04:10 AM

Civilian security don't have guns, and not all police do. Possibly they had to use CS gas because of there being too much risk of a member of the public being shot though.

Not sure that luck came into it really.
More like incompetence.
I mean, planning to drive a bomb into the terminal of an airport but using a car that's too wide to fit through the doors? Idiots!:o

nicfit 07.02.2007 06:50 AM

I just hope that those kind of "amatorial" attempts ( while still dangerous) are not just some kind of diversion to keep intelligence busy while something serious is on the way... but if the intelligence is intelligent enough guess they shouldn' t be fooled, anyways.
