Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman - thoughts
ok, since i live in CT, i was wondering the opinion of Joe outside the northeast. although many dems are calling for him to leave the party (remember this was thier VP choice in 2000), a current state polls shows lieberman winning again by a landslide.
any thoughts on sen joe? |
ok..

considering he's one of the few democrats in congress who has pretty consistently approved of the iraq war, you have to admire his free-thinking if nothing else.
|
that guy makes me feel ashamed to be jewish.
*shudder* |
Besides his veering off into libby la-la land during his 2000 VP run with Al Bore, I really respect Joe Lieberman. I think he is seen as a conservative democrat (not a Liberal) or a pragmatic Republican by the rest of the country. He is the Democrat least likely to demagogue (sp?) an issue like Ted Kennedy or Nancy Pelosi would. I'd expect him to be a good President or a solid Senator for a while.

He's probably just a tad better than McCain, but not by much. Joe and John represent the all too common pathetic willingness in Washington to be Bush patsy's. I wish conservatives had some balls.
|
"I wish conservatives had some balls." ?????!!!!!!????????
I think that's exactly what they do have. Your faves: Bush, Cheny and Rummy as well as Condi all have been taking serious heat from the four corners of the world. But they all have the balls enough to say FUCK YOU we're going in anyway to beat these al qaeda fuckers in the nads and stomp on there faces so hard that their grandchildren feel it. That, my friend, takes balls. |

i admire the terrorist who will try and seek people like you or anybody else for that matter who will kill you because of all the hate and discrimination your beloved politicians are generating. that takes a lot more balls than ordering their citizens to die for something they don't quite understand or care for. |
McCain has spoken out against the war, i think he's one of the more smarter republicans. He's not one who lies through his teeth and likes to give breaks to the rich and priveleged.
|
Bush, Cheny and Rummy are NOT conservatives.

Exactly. I could do with or without Joe. Although I think (I also think someone mentioned this before) a McCain/Lieberman ticket in '08 would be something nice to see, even if they don't win. |
