WOW, thanks for this! + gira should be incredible.
i'll be at the london one.
do you know who else is going to be at the wire/electra fest or have they not decided yet? it sounds like it's going to be a hell of a show but i can't find any info anywhere...

sonicl 08.17.2007 08:20 AM

No announcements yet on the Wire fest, but I've started a thread to which I'll add any info that I find.

Glice 08.17.2007 09:41 AM

Might go to the London one, or possibly Birmingham. It's equally likely I won't be arsed, but I really should.

sonicl 08.17.2007 09:56 AM

The new Angels of Light album doesn't excite me as much as all the ones that came before it, but I'll go to the London show just to see Michael Gira, let alone get my first Boredoms experience.

jon boy 08.17.2007 10:02 AM

why do these have to happen when i am out of the country! why do you mock me oh lord!

sonicl 08.17.2007 10:11 AM

I think he does it because you don't go to church.

Bicorn Halfelven 08.17.2007 10:27 AM

Saw the Boredoms last year at the End Times Festival, and loved them... it was my first time, and I don't think it will be my last.

You can't go wrong with three full drum kits on stage.

farmhouse 08.17.2007 10:34 AM

are tickets for these on sale yet?

sonicl 08.17.2007 10:36 AM

They're all on sale except the London one, which isn't "officially" announced yet.

farmhouse 08.17.2007 10:48 AM

Yes, as I might have thought.

No central/eastern Europe whatsoever.

pokkeherrie 08.19.2007 09:30 AM

Does anyone know what's up with OOIOO's European tour? Postponed or cancelled altogether? They were supposed to play in my town in November but that got cancelled. :(

atsonicpark 08.19.2007 09:37 AM

what are angels of light like?

sonicl 08.19.2007 01:15 PM

If you want to compare them to Swans, the're most like Burning World-era. Quite Leonard Cohen-like, in a way.

PAULYBEE2656 08.20.2007 06:09 AM

The Boredoms were absolutely amazing in Manchester. Eye was playing a bank of open guitar necks chiming the chords with different drum sticks. the rest of the band were drummers with keyboards an delays. It was unbeliveably thrilling.
Gira was singing a real morbid death blues that left me a little cold but seemed to be enjoyed by the crowd.
