Saw the pumpkins monday

I was at the Vancouver show. It was the best show I've been to, by far. Now I just have to see sonic youth and skinny puppy and I'll be able to die happy.

Has anyone else seen them this tour? I wanted to post, because there is a lot of pumpkins smack talked in this forum, especially since the reunion. But they were at the top of things. They were amazing. I fully expected it to be a cheesy reunion, only good for the sake of ticking it off the list, but that was one almighty loud and beautiful concert!

Oh, and someone died at the show but I don't think he was squished in the moshpit like most news sources are claiming.

I'm sorry.

I heard about the guy dying at the show. I've got tickets for November 3 in Dallas. :D

The light show was fantastic, like a disco thunderdome. I heard they're carrying it around the continent in 4 different trucks.

The autopsy came back saying that the guy died of an overdose of suck.

Bummer.

A dude from here went (I know because of the Sudbury music forum...).

The guy is a solid nob.

Well, they encored with Starla, and they played a lot of old stuff. More than half of it was old, I'd say, but the set was about 2 hours long so that's still a lot of new stuff. I love the new stuff though.

They played a really cool version of heavy metal machine, interspersed with white rabbit by jefferson airplane. That ended with a cover of road house blues.

that's the thing.
they might come for a festival, so i guess they'll just play for an hour.
and it's obvious, in my opinion, that they'll want to present most of their new stuff and play some of the old stuff.
and argh
i don't want that.
i hate them
arggggggh

saw them in Montreal. Somewhat worth it.

PAULYBEE2656 09.30.2007 09:52 AM

saw rthem in dublin during the siamese dream era.. worst gig i was ever at. they are awful. met billy corgan afterwards, biggest self indulgent prick ive ever met in my life. wanker to the hilt. james iha, as he is of japanese descent, was an absolute gentleman.

pumpkins died for me the day i turned my vinyl of gish onto side 2.

What does being second generation Japanese have to do with being a gentleman?

PAULYBEE2656 09.30.2007 10:06 AM

hey, ive never come accross a japanese first or second generation person who wasnt extremely polite. its in their genes and its gonna take more than one ot two generations for that to get diluted by the westerners seed.
