holy cow crap i'm freaking out!

only thing is, one of our members lives in austin, and that's 8 hours away, and we haven't played together in months. but this opportunity is fucking awesome and i don't think we can afford to pass it up.

only thing is, we'd be missing a bunch of class (our other member is in grad school) and it wouldn't be a university excused absence, so it would count against our grades. at the same time, though, this is what i want to do more than anything else. i don't want to teach music, i want to PLAY music.

what's a girl to do?

but seriously. this is the type of shit that should EARN you credits. like, write it up as an "independent study" in "introduction to the music business". talk to your advisor & find a way to squeeze this in. a lot of vaseline would help. if that won't work, transfer to NYU.

ps- faculty gives itself free passes to go to "conferences', which are nothing but opportunities to fuck each other after a dull day of useless discussions, instead of going to the whores after making lots of money, like respectable business people do.

you'd think that, right? wrong. there've been instances just like this one where students have flunked classes because they opted to perform with X group instead of taking a test, hoping that the teacher would reschedule it...with no luck.

Heart vs head is always a shitty fight to have. I'm glad to hear that heart is winning out in this one. Opportunities like that aren't ones that come along every five minutes.
