Finally getting an ipod...
I know, I'm WAY behind the times, but I never could get myself to spend the money. But my wife is getting me one for our anniversary, it's a black 30gb ipod with video playback. It's nice :)

congrats. have fun with it.

Seeing as how we can't have a radio at work, but for some reason we can have ipods, I will definitely have fun with it. :)

I'd prefer an iPod to a radio anyway. Unless you have good local radio stations, which I do not.

my local radio station is getting real nice. For the longest time they played shit. The same songs all the time. Now their playing classics like bad brains and dinosuar jr. with a lot of new alternative stuff as well. |
I'm getting the new iPod classic with 160GB storage as soon as humanly possible...

i have an old discman that does double duty jacked to a stereo but being stuck in airports last month made me reevaluate my portable music gear... |
I've learned to deal with my 1 gb ipod. I just take songs and add what i want to hear for that day.

![]() ![]() Power users will prefer the $349 model, which now has a whopping 160GB of storage capacity rather than 80GB—this equates to 40,000 songs or 200 hours of video. Its battery now promises 40 hours of music and 7 hours of video, versus 20 hours of audio and 6.5 video hours in last year’s $349 model. In other words, Apple claims that you’ll get twice the storage and twice the audio play time, with a 7.7% increase in promised video play time. If those numbers weren’t impressive enough, the 160GB iPod classic also outperformed its battery claims, running our two test videos for 9 hours and 28 minutes on 50% volume and 50% brightness—a 46% improvement over last year’s top model. In audio, it exceeded Apple’s claims by a wide margin, playing our test tracks for 58 hours and 14 minutes. Your results may well vary based on the amount you use the iPod’s screen, equalizers, and other features, but there’s no doubt that the 160GB classic is the power champ of the iPod family ![]() |
ipods are glorious. i remember the day we got ours and theman finally quit lugging a backpack full of cds to work everyday. i never have to have cds in my car. ahhhhh. i'm content with my 30 gb, but i think theman needs to upgrade to the 160. he listens to random shit all the time whereas i obsess about much fewer bands/songs at a time.

you will be sooooo happy. i'm happy FOR you! |
I am an LP guy at heart and MP3s sound crappy and all that, but I'm not that concerned with fidelity when I'm riding my bike wearing my illegal headphones and playing them at an unsafe volume.
Very convenient for that, but at home I spin vinyl. |
