Frankenstein

It pisses me off that more people into horror don't give the Frankenstein films more props. Everyone's all Dracula this, werewolves that or zombies whatever but neither Dr Frankenstein or his monster get much more than an 'oh yeah, them', these days. Pisses me off that does.

All those nice references, and you forgot the Paul Morrisey version of this legend..."To know death, Otto, you have to fuck life in the gall bladder". God bless you Udo Kier.

Yours, wanting to listen now to the Sun City Girls' "I Knew A Jew Named Frankenstein",

Smelly.

what ever happened to the good old days when you could chase the monsters out of town with just a few friends and some torches.

demonrail666, I believe your signature is mixed up. The top picture is a Paris Sewer, not the bottom picture.

As a child I saw The Wolf Man and repeatedly checked out from the school library a book on monster movie magic. I've tried to find a copy of the book in recent years, but I don't even remember the title of it, and as I recall it was pretty old and probably not a popular title. Anyway, back then I was determined to become a makeup artist and do things like werewolf transformations, which fascinated me the most. One of my life goals, still, is to someday be involved in the making of a good modern werewolf movie.

Heavy, man.

I like one of the early ones I've seen, and the remake you have in the first post was surprisingly good.
The scene in the house, where the girl is on fire, is one of the most disturbing scenes...
And no mention of (one of my all-time favourites, and of the funniest ever) Young Frankenstein?! For shame!

But I'm a Nosferatu man (no pun on a Slint song intended), and I love old horror movies in general. It goes:
Nosferatu/Vampires
Zombies
Frankenstein
Werewolves
(Not a big werewolf fan, though I haven't seen many werewolf movies... and I'm sticking only to the classic evil characters...)
I am actually having this old-horror watching hangout thing with a girl I like in the next couple weeks!

Fuck, I'm rambling so hard. Sorry.

The actual life Vlad the Impaler is scarier than Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Frankenstein is terrifying.

I love Frankenstein films, from the old ones to the Kenneth Brannagh version.

They imagery in those films was great. And there was usually someone called the 'Burgomeister', which always sounded like a great title to me.
