Watch a FILM I just finished for my religionvsscience class....
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...61303020962502
"The Cosmology of the Ethiopian Tewahedo Orthodox Church, as expressed through elements of the Kidasse (liturgy) and specific Anaphora, found and preserved only within the Ethiopian tradition. The Anaphoras include the Anaphora of Mary, the Anaphora of the Three Hundred and Eighteen Fathers, the Anaphora of Epiphanius, and the Anaphora of Athanasius. The Tewahedo Ethiopian Orthodox Church is one of the most ancient of the Oriental Orthodox Churches, and a unique source of many lost Alexandrian traditions, which connect the Ethiopian Church to the oldest Christian traditions still practiced faithfully into the twenty first century" And be kind regarding the image quality of this particular version, google destroyed the quality of the HD original which is 714MB or I would post the file itself somewhere... the assignment is to post it on google anyways.. |
That was interesting, and visually very pleasant too. Thanks.

Oh, I thought you meant you had just finished watching it! I didn't realise it was one you'd made. If that's what you meant. I should read things more carefully.
If you did, then very well done. I've just finished reading some books concerning early Christian doctrines and the like. They were all covering the more general ground, but I'm keen to read more specific stuff. Is there any you would recommend about Ethiopian churches? Or anything specific, in fact. Online resources are cool too. |
Good job, it appears google video somewhat brutalized your video, but it didn't spoil the content.

http://www.ethiopianorthodox.org http://www.ethiovirginmary.org (the local church I attend) there is a wealth of information in the first link, in fact more info and literature available in english then you can find just about anywhere else. |
Thanks very much.
I'll have a brief read of them now, and bookmark them for tomorrow. I've just been reading your church doctrine page. It's very nicely expressed. I think the whole of the Christian world need to accept that there are many branches of the catholic church, and stop trying to theologically beat each other up. I believe our distinct denominations can work together with very little trouble if the will is there. The current 'churches together' - type organisations are a start, but they are a bit too nominal for my liking. |
