I have to train some people in colorado how to help me, later today. the main person that I'm training is a freakin' idiot, so it should go really well [/sarcasm].

it's cold here (and dark) and I wish I could just keep hibernating.

Leafy Surrey is outside the office window, and I wish I was outside the office window with it. Instead I'm sat at my desk, feeling very very tired and trying to concentrate on columns and columns of figures and not delete the wrong things. And I'm hungry.

but hey, just feel lucky you have a window to look out of. I gave up my corner office view of the lake for a corner cubicle a year ago. the job is better (and I'm getting another office with a window soon) but right now, my only view on the outside world has buttons that say "post quick reply" and "GO ADVANCED".

while I'm on the subject, I really have a problem with the whole "go advanced" thing. it's almost as if the forum is mocking me by suggesting that I'm caveman or something.

sonicl - have you had a chance to visit the Second Layer shop? It's well stocked, and Pete (Mr Second Layer) is a friendly and knowledgable guy.

I have visited Secondlayer, yes, but it may have to be a while before I go again as I'm trying to cut back on the music purchases due to a lack of time to listen to the stuff that I already own. Pete's a thoroughly nice guy, isn't he? He recognized me outside the Glenn Branca show last Friday, actually, which was a bit scary.

He recognised me too! I'm trying to save up some cash myself (so am not buying so much), but I'm going to go up there this weekend. I enjoyed the Branca gig very much - me and my mate were standing pretty near the front, whereabouts were you? It's the first time I've been to the Roundhouse, and I think it's a nice venue.

I was sat up in the balcony. I figured that the event would be enhanced by being able to see all that was going on onstage, and I think I was right. It was great being able to see people towards the back of the stage going apeshit. There was a girl (quite a cute girl, actually) in the second row on the stage, to the left of the conductor, who was talking to herself all the way through. I thought at first that she was making up lyrics, but then realised that she was counting time, but she looked as if she was really enjoying the whole thing. Anyway, she won my vote for "musician who looked most like he/she was having the time of his/her life". The other guitarist who caught my eye was an Asian guy on the far right in the first row, who looked like he was a music teacher or something - I reckon he's probably the coolest music teacher in London.

It's a shame there was no programme or something, with the names of all the players and what they were playing, that would have been quite cool, especially as a souvenir for the musicians themselves.
