That's right, every interview I saw with him he went out of his his way to say "my name's not Hootie". He'll always be Hootie to me. If I see him I'll say "Yo, Hootie!" or "Hootie, my man!" or "Hey Hootie, I just heard one of your tunes in the elevator".

Hootie and the Blowfish are/were pointless radio-friendly AOR cheese.
