When You Realize it is Best to be Friends...
 

Just break up. And continue on with the friendship or part ways?

I for one believe that friendship can ensue, but that may be naiveness on my part. However, I do believe I am mature enough that I won't get mad or sad if the other person is dating someone else.

Has any of you been in this situation? And what have you done?

This happened to me once, and we tried being friends, but didn't work due to awkwardness. We ended up getting back together for a little while then ended it with a fight. Friendship after is hard.

I prefer to just cut those people out of my life completely. It's over, you know?

Yeah, i've been in that situation

Me and the ex were on and off, decided we could never be together
Took a 2 month break recently, got back together, and it wasn't the same
We haven't broken up, but we talk less and less as the days go by
I think I talked to her about 3 times last week, saw her once
etc.

Depends what life you lead/live. Obviously a highschool studentd response will be different than a college kids response, or a store clerk, or a old married man, or a loner. Ya know?

I am doing good, just going through this phase as I mentioned above.

Well, I'd say I'm still friends with every girl I've dated, so yeah, it's possible. Although I could just be lucky.
