Today I am a poseur...

Yes, I am. I bought a pair of jeans with manufactured stress marks and holes in them. But they are rocking.

My jeans drawer needed some updating.

So sue me. I'm married. I can wear whatever I want.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 10.23.2007 02:17 PM

oh no!

I need some new jeans.

On the up side, at least you won't be one of the backtrackin' poseurs when Scorsese unveils Shine A Light next year.

Yeah, they're old, but they still are better than just about everyone else live despite what cookie-cutter "hipsters" constantly regurgitate about them.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese and the world's greatest rock 'n roll band, The Rolling Stones, unite to bring audiences the musical film event, "Shine A Light," a look at The Rolling Stones, the band that defined the very idea of what a rock & roll band is, live through the eyes of Scorsese. It's hard to overestimate the importance of The Rolling Stones in rock & roll history. The group, which formed in London in 1962, distilled so much of the music that had come before it and has exerted a decisive influence on so much that has come after. Only a handful of musicians in any genre achieve that stature, and the Stones stand proudly among them. No stranger to rock concert films ("The Last Waltz"), Scorcese filmed the Stones over a two-day period at the intimate Beacon Theater in New York City in fall 2006, He assembled an incredible team of cinematographers to capture the raw energy of the legendary band. The Director of Photography, Oscar winner Robert Richardson ("The Aviator," "JFK"), supervised the camera team comprised of several highly acclaimed cinematographers, including Oscar winner John Toll ("The Last Samurai," "Braveheart"), Oscar winner Andrew Lesnie ("The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "King Kong"), Oscar nominee Stuart Dryburgh ("The Piano," "The Painted Veil"), Oscar nominee Robert Elswit ("Magnolia," "Good Night and Good Luck"), Oscar nominee Emmanuel Lubezki ("Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events," "Sleepy Hollow") and Ellen Kuras ("Summer of Sam," "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"). The film was edited by David Tedeschi, who most recently worked with Scorsese on the acclaimed Bob Dylan documentary "No Direction Home: Bob Dylan." The executive producers are Rolling Stones members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood.

That sounds very men on films

gmku 10.23.2007 02:44 PM

The movie sounds boring as all crap. The Stones in 2006?! Jesus, kill me now.

My jeans, on the other hand, are anything but boring. I'm not going to tell you what store I visited to purchase them, but the clerk was sweet and she wore a phone in her ear. Jeans were on every which wall, and are called every kind of name, low rise this, and boot cut that, with this kind of wash and that kind of finish, and by the time I finally picked out a few pair I was really confused. Fortunately I seem to have made it home with a few pairs that fit and look nice.

Yeah, well I take it back then.

And I also edited, crypto.
I figured that "In Living Color" was well before your time, but I guess it was in syndication until only a few years ago, maybe it still is. I wouldn't understand why people would download episodes of it or buy dvds of it, that's for sure.

gmku 10.23.2007 02:53 PM

Take what back? Am I being insulted? If I am, like I care.

Okay, it was American Eagle Outfitters. Happy?

Cut it out. I look goooodd. The salesclerk told me so, and she wouldn't lie.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 10.23.2007 02:58 PM

She was probably a Men-On-Films-Hag

gmku 10.23.2007 03:00 PM

Seriously, though, there's one thing that make me feel like a new man: a great new pair of jeans, and new shoes.

That's two, actually. Jeans, and new shoes. And a new record.

Okay, so that's three. Jeans, shoes, records, and a good cup of coffee. ...

cryptowonderdruginvogue 10.23.2007 03:03 PM

Yeah, that's not very next level of you, gmku

gmku 10.23.2007 03:07 PM

What can I say? I'm just an easy-as-Sunday-morning kind of guy in a next-level kind of world.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 10.23.2007 03:07 PM

Sucks to yr asthmar

Anywho, how have you been?
what's good, son?
It's been a while.

gmku 10.23.2007 03:15 PM

I always think I'm okay until you start talking to me, and then I feel like I'm on acid or something. Where do you get your lingo, son.

gmku 10.23.2007 03:19 PM

Actually, I'm enjoying this crazy little thing they call freelance writing. I don't ever want to go back to working in an office. Except my own in my own house.
