shit, i got drunk and posted a topic saying that Elliott Smith was great a few months ago when i was on the edge beyond the ledge, and i got shite thrown at me by many characters on this here board.
Well, being one big objective clinical bastard: Speed Trials Between The Bars Christian Brothers Say Yes Baby Britain Biggest Lie Junk Bond Trader Lost and Found (whichever it is) Miss Misery Happiness The old suicidal chap had alot of very good songs. |
I've just recently started listening to him. I love his music. My favorite songs are:
Say Yes Happiness Coast to Coast Let's Get Lost Speed Trials Alameda Son of Sam (the first song I heard of his which made me listen to more.) |
Coast to Coast may be my favorite song of his, it needs more love.
Memory Lane hasn't been mentioned yet, what's up with that? I love that song. |

St. Ides Heaven
Coast To Coast Rose Parade Angeles 2:45 AM Somebody That I Used To Know Fond Farewell Roman Candle No Name #1 |
My current fav's in order of preference (it changes every few weeks):
Waltz #2 Angel in the Snow New Monkey Looking Over my Shoulder Baby Britain Christian Brothers Coming up Roses |
"Everything Means Nothing To Me" has got to be my favorite.
|
I don't know his music well, but at least:
Ballad of big nothing Between the bars Waltz #2 (XO) Independence day Bled white Waltz #1 Oh well, Okay Bottle up and explode! I didn't understand Son of Sam |
Say Yes
St. Ide's Heaven Rose Parade The Biggest Lie Clementine Roman Candle After that the rest of the pre major label records. I know I'm setting myself up for being called an indie snob all over again (and I'm not, I really don't care if people are big or small), but I just thought his stuff after Either/Or was boring comparatively. It wasn't awful, but after Either/Or it just seemed like he'd peaked to me. |
