The Flaming Lips- Clouds Taste Metallic is a fucking kickass album
Anyone else think of Kim Gordon wielding a watermelon gun when they listen to this album?
|
no but that is possibly the most amusing image that's popped into my mind all day.
|
I still prefer In A Priest Driven Ambulence.
|
Awesome album, only topped by "transmissions".
The "kim" in that song is meant to be kim deal. |
Hmmm, didn't know that. I wasn't far off the mark. I had no reason to believe it was a famous Kim.
|
it's their best in my opinion, i love the last two songs the best.
|
An ok album. I only really like the first song and Placebo headwound. I just can't stand Wayne.
|
Clouds Taste Metallic is probably my favourite Flaming Lips album.
|
clouds taste metallic is the last decent album the flps put out ever.......
in a priest driven ambulance and hit to death are my favourites tho. |
i bought this many years ago at a pawn shop for $1.
it's great. |

yeah, this one and the soft bulletin for me. |

Youre not the least bit impressed a band like flaming lips who when started were just a barely could play faux-noise band, and evolved all the way to make a record as masterful like the soft bulletin? |
nope. the soft bulletin is weak and yoshimi is even worse, at war with themystics is awful.....
....just an opinion. i prefered them when they didnt try to emulate their friends (mercury rev) leap into mainstream conciousness....... ...god that sounds real concieted, i dont mean to be. i just prefer their rockier stuff. |
it os a great album... really great. every song. simply great...
and they put n one of the better live shows that i have been to |
Soft Bulletin > Zaireeka > CTM > Transmissions > IAPDA > newer stuff > older stuff
|
While we are doing maths:
Soft Bulletin = Most overrated album ever. |

glad to know i am not alone. although it is a gem compared to yoshimi and mystics. |
i fucking love at war with the mystics and the soft bulletin, but i also love priest driven ambulance and all them old albums.
basically, there's not much i don't like by them. |
yeah, i don't ever really have the urge to listen to them, but everything they've done is good.
never heard zaireeka in its, uh, "proper" way, though i doubt it really makes that big of a difference. just one of those "oh whoooooooooa coollllllll" things. brilliant, but.. not something i feel like getting 4 stereos together for.. |
