The Pink Cloud
 

Since there's been more than one sobriety thread in the past few whatevers, I thought I'd share this bit of info that I found interesting. It mostly pertains to pot, but I've heard alchoholics report a similiar effect.

After the first day or so of sobriety, the brain "thanks" you for ceasing to fuck with it. It releases happy hormones; one typically feels energized, optimistic and blissed. Someone decided to call it a "pink cloud," a poetic and apt phrase, no? (And I'm told that a select few will play Johnathan Richmond's "I'm Straight" over and over.)

For me, it usually lasts 7-10 days. Then the hard work begins...
