John Cale's Solo Work
![]() I got my first john cale solo record this week and I love it. It's Sabotage, it came out around 77.The record has some great unexpected diversity to it. I mean being part of the VU I'd expect songs like "mercenary" and "sabotage", ,but I was happily surprised with the catchy "dr.mudd" (that coulda been a hit with the right promotion). Also I lvoe that sweet ballad "only time will tell", whos the girl singing on that? So what are your favorite John Cale albums? Do you think his solo career surpasses Lou's? |
Fear is my favorite.
the semi-title track opener is amazing. practically every one of his 70's records are worth listening to. i love his cover of Jonathan Richman's Pablo Picasso. so driving, so powerful, especially the ending. all great stuff. |
