downloading videos from youtube.
 

Hey, how do i convert the flv files that i've downloaded into lets say avi or mpeg files? my total video converter trial expired and i dont know of any other program that does this, help?

the thread's title is quite misleading.
install and use THIS , you might have to "play around" a bit with the options to get a perfect conversion but this freeware rules. If you double click on the file (after dragging+dropping it in the list of files to convert) you'll see the analisys of the media streams (audio and video), check those values and infos (video bitrate, audio bitrate,frequency etc) to get an idea of the values you have to put in for different file formats.

My firefox plugin that downloads videos off youtube has stopped working. It won't save the videos properly.

nope, it's a "stand alone" thing that recognizes media in internet pages and can dl them easily. it's a nice download manager too.

Hmm... Thanks but I prefer my thingo's to be plugins.
