i dont think its a big deal, really... woo here comes sonic youth invading a corporate store.... the music industry as we know it is completly shifting and we're gonna have to come up with new ways to do things.. look at radiohead. seriously.... the industry has been falling and geffens going under.. you can't expect sy to get an oppurtunity like this starbucks thing and turn it down..

Well if you look through all the threads started, I supported them doing this. I for one don't care what they do to release music.

I wont buy it, because i hate starbucks. I really do. However a band i love doing a business deal with them is ok with me; Starbucks is just a pain in the arse, they dont do anything that controls you; i choose to not go into Starbucks, SY choose to release an album with them. What else can i do but just stick to my personal principles on the matter? I wont buy the album, so what? As if they havent brought me intense joy over the last 5 years.
