Nation of Ulysses
 

inspired by the ddn vs. nou poll, but how amazing was Nation of Ulysses? They made two records both of which were infathomably awesome, well thats my opinion anyways. I think theyre one of the maybe top 5 bands to ever be on the Dischord roster, which as we know is really really amazing. I didnt like Make-up too much, but just for those two Nation of Ulysses records I consider Ian Svenonious one of the best lead singers ever. He's a real cool, intelligent, down to earth guy as well as evidenced by his show on VBS "Soft Focus, where he interviews other relevant, interesting performers. Anyways, if anyone else here really digs this band, go ahead, say what you feel. And if you dont, i guess you can still post because this is a message board, and as some people here forget, were here to merely discuss our "opinions", but i suppose thats for a different post. Anyways, Nation of Ulysses was a great fucking band.

I adore NOU. I also adore Make Up (except for the odd record). The projects since have been episodically good, but I can never remember their names. Along with Refused they're one of two Hardcore bands I would actively choose to listen to.

Indeed. 13-Point Program is my favorite.

I think they were a great band ( and the best one on Dischord , as far as I know ). Yet , they weren't amazing to me , as it took me quite a long time to get into their sound and enjoy it.

Make-up : I've seen a video of them recently ( a song with "witch" in it ) : the video was awfull , and the song too.That's all I know about them.

Yeah, but it was a ripped DVD without subtitles - the live bits are good, but the interviews aren't so good if you can't speak the language.


Weird War took me forever to get, but it's up there with NOU and the Make up for me now. Faintly silly, but in an entirely brilliant way.

yeah i've got it, it's arguably the best book written in the last 10 years. seriously.

oh, i forgot to write that they are in my top 10 favorite bands and both albums are flawless, i think. the make up are amazing also and so is cupid car club.

they rock. i love em.

i already expressed my lukewarm feelings towards this band on the pussy galore vs. dischord thread.

Dischord have many great bands, to just name one would be an injustice of sorts.
