soulseek for mac?
yeah so...
i just got an imac, is there a version of soulseek for macs? limewire can suck my balls. |
Nicotine (not for intel macs) and Acquisition 2.0 (not free) seem to have the most friendly interface amongst mac users.
A third option would be Solarseek Beta version (free and for OS X 10.5 Leopard) which runs on your machine. I don't use any of them, so I wouldn't know how good they are compared to Soulseek. |

In French we'd say that you "jures comme un charretier" ("swear like a carter", according to my dictionary the equivalent in English is "swear like a trooper"). I didn't know you were a tranny by the way :D |

limewire is pretty terrible. you can try acquisition but i've found it's so much better/easier to just go the bittorrent route. |

you mean she has a sailor's mouth -- cankers-- i don't know of a non-geeky solution. a cheap winbox networked to your mac should do the trick. you should be able to find a discarded shitty old laptop somewhere & use it just for soul sucking. |
That should do the trick (it's a soulseek-compatible software for Macs):

From what I've read Solarseek is much less stable than Soulseex. I've not tried those softwares as I have PCs. |
I use a mac and SoulSeeX is the best I've found other than the usenet and a bit torrent site
|
bittorrent will do. hadn't thought of that.
in other news this computer is SWEET. |

im glad to see that mac is finally getting free apps made for it they way that linux has-- i've been considering getting a mac next rather than switching to vista. true story. |
do it. the 20" imac is awesomeeee.
|
no cuz if you buy a mac it means you're willing to spend yr life savings on non pirate software and music. duh.
people dont hax macs. too much respect for the fact they dont try to monopolize. |

i just built a puter for a photographer friend and all along i was telling him to get an imac but no, he stubbornly clung to what he knows. Quote:
nah, i need it for work is all. i do work with non-pirate software. :o Quote:
that's changing, is my point-- they have the critical mass now to justify messing with them. it's a user-friendly UNIX. i love OSX but what's been keeping me is that you can't build your own. but laptops you can't build anyway so... hm.... |

i could spend my money on quality products like thinkpads or macbook pros (sometimes i really wish i did)
or i can borrow a computer from one of those people that changed into the "wonderful" mac or vista world |

One of my friends has a Mac and he still has tons of cracked softwares :D |

i'm gonna try out ubuntu & see what happens. might be able to save a bundle. |
yeah, ubuntu got quite popular.
nowadays even slackware is "out of the box", anyway. if you want the best performance, the best looks, the safest, etc... and if you want to run it on anything, you know what's the right choice (and it's not os x or vista) what kind of work do you do? |
