i just got into a thread on the jay farrar board - the other board i spend hours on - as to whether or not son volt was or wasn't my favorite band. i said this, among other things:

does anybody else even see the connection between these three, let alone enjoy it? or is it some weird accident of sub-generational identity and geographical coincidence that has formed this pallette of mine?

more importantly, does anybody else out there like son volt (version 1 and/or 2?)

all i really know about Son Volt is that they are always beside Sonic Youth when i'm checkin out the Youth CD's in a record shop!
