Is your dog bad?

Mine is. One of them, anyway. He's a Golden Retriever, about 5 years old. For a while now, he's had this habit of going and grabbing items he shouldn't have, especially if we walk out of the room. Items like kitchen towels and shoes are his favorite, though he also goes for remote controls. Thing is, he doesn't really do anything with them--he takes them to the couch and lies down with them, then looks really "sneaky" when we come back into the room, like, "Nope, no, wasn't me, I didn't do it."

Thing is, I've tried scolding him, but he keeps doing it. But it's also very hard to stay mad at him because he's so damned cute.

The other night, while I was working in the den, I heard him whining on the couch. The whining got louder and louder. Finally I went out to see what the matter was and there he was, lying on the couch with a kitchen towel near his head. It was like he was sad or frustrated that I wouldn't come out and catch him with the towel.

my kitty's got a small head

That's unfortunate.

He needs a good hard beating.

Has he been neutered? If not perhaps he's um, a bit wanton. By all accounts he sounds like a teenager. Teenagers love towels.

my cat is bad. very. he would NEVER do anything like piss or shit where he shouldn't... it's more like...stealing your food or running across you and gouging you with his claws. if you try to knock him off something, he just swings back.

He is neutered. I think he's just plain ornery.

Buster is an excellent dog. The worst thing he does is jump on people, but he's a Shih-Tzu so it's not all that bothersome. He cuddles and gets along with others, the ones he doesn't get along with he is afraid of. He hasn't been neutered, nor do I want him to be as it's pretty unnecessary.

My kitty likes me so much she is a masochist.

Anngella 02.20.2008 07:10 PM

Oh, and also he isn't "my dog," he's just a dog who lives and cuddles with me. Occasionally begs from and sleeps with. He is not property, no sir E.

you should cut off one foot every time he does something bad. he'll learn sooner than later.

gmku 02.20.2008 08:18 PM

Ha ha.... Okay.

He wants your attention maybe.

My dog is puts on a facade of an evil, rip your face off kinds of dog. When you get to know her she's totally different though, you just need to gain her trust.
It is annoying, because it scares people and I hate listening to her bark.
