Are Fucked Up a good band?
 

I read yesterday something about their new 12" ''Year Of The Pig'' and thought that I might like them. Does anyone know them and are they any good? At the moment i can't play music at work until later so I can't listen to their myspace.

they are ok. i have something somewhere by em that i listened to once and raised an eyebrow slightly...i havent listened to it again and actually dont really know where it is at the moment!

competent hardcore-ish punk. a good listen but hardly essential in my opinion.

their label, www.jadetree.com might have an mp3 or two if you can download those (as opposed to myspace).

my brother-in-law's band plays with them often. however never heard anything by them ...

jade tree, anything ive heard off that label dissappoints me. these arms are snakes and lords spring to mind.....

denali had their moments.

can't think of many jt bands except for those two and taas and...the promise ring...who i liked (first two albums and some sporadic songs).

i have one of their records, hidden world, at their worst they are a shitty integrity tribute band, at their best they are a integ tribute band who manage to play hardcore at hardcore speed in inexplicable 15 min songs. so half their stuff is pseudo-good.

I still haven't heard a single thing by them. Thanks for all your opinions.

i haven't listened to integrity in so long. i have their 7 inch of septic death covers.

I love me some early Integrity.

yeah integrity is definitley a cool band. they definitley helped usher in a new, much less powerful, movement of hardcore, converge, botch, dillinger, colaesce, etc.. all excellent bands, and all bands who know that punk rock died a long time ago and it aint never coming back, so they just use hardcore as a backdrop and make it something else compleltey different. i have no idea what i just said. i need a coffee.
