marital law!

So, married folk, what are the absolute do-not-break rules of the house?

And I'm actually curious, not just driving an easy pun.

m1rr0r dash 02.22.2008 03:47 PM

til death do us part.

if you break that one, you can get the fuck out.

gmku 02.22.2008 03:50 PM

I think having an affair would be #1 in anyone's top 10 list.

pbradley 02.22.2008 03:51 PM

So no sleeping on the sofa when you forget to put the seat down?

Yeah, I was kind of hoping for unique rules like how my mom won't start the family movie until my dad gets out of the kitchen. This usually results in us yelling at him, etc.

Rob Instigator 02.22.2008 03:54 PM

I was married for 8-9 years.

the only rule was, do NOT let the cats out of the house.

thats a fucked up rule. cats belong outside by nature, after all, they dont have the thumbs to build a structure to begin with..

Rob Instigator 02.22.2008 04:01 PM

all animals belong outside. these are pets we are talking about, with no knowledge of the outside world and it's Feline Aids and feline leukimia and traffic and shit, and rabid possums and racoons and squirrels and shit. I live in the 4th largest city in the country man. never let my kitty kats outside!

dude, people have the same problems and yet we go outside all of the time. let the cat live man, and I mean truly live, like cats do, outside fucking, meowing, climbing shit, eating shit, shitting places elsewhere, all that good demmete (lit. cat-my) stuff....

!@#$%! 02.22.2008 04:04 PM

rules... rules...

can't think of one. we shit inside the toilet bowl without the need for a rulebook.

while that is no "rule", deviating from that practice would constitute a serious breech.

lots of things happen that way.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 02.22.2008 04:08 PM

Ha, no. We're not quite that punitive over the small stuff. Usually that kind of infraction just brings a "reminder." The more serious infractions get "talks."

I'd post some scat images as a joke here, which would be appropriate and funny, however, I just dont dig that shit, literally, at all, not even for jokes.

however..these might be an acceptable subsitute..

Though there was the dogs-in-the-car incident a week or so ago. There was some "tension" in the air for a day or so. But that's about it.

Though it's a nice thought, technically, domestic cats don't belong anywhere by nature, because Felis catus wouldn't naturally exist in the form that we know it today if it were not for humans. They are not a part of naturally functioning ecosystems like wild cats are, so it's not correct to say they belong outside.

correct, but that is because we have removed them from their natural ecosystems to begin with, and domesticated them into "house cats". however, it is obvious to any one who lets their cats live outside, that house cats have a remarkable ability to become wild cats..

pbradley 02.22.2008 05:28 PM

I always feel like house cats have an natural curiosity and to house them in at least a small apartment or house can be awful. Especially alone. My cats have always been curious about going outside. Which is why backyards are nice.
