Anybody else get a load of that EXTREME earthquake last night?

For those in the UK... well, anyone?

I was startled, at best. I thought my house was subsiding. Everybody else in the place slept through it and I forgot about the whole thing until somebody brought it up in college today.

Start sending EARTHQUAKE RELIEF to the UK, foreign boardies.

Earthquakes, what magnitude was it?

floatingslowly 02.27.2008 07:57 PM

earthquakes are fun!

feels like earth-surfing.

have yrself a tornado and get back to me, sissy britches!

auto-aim 02.27.2008 08:00 PM

people on the news said that they thought their houses were getting burgled. How the fuck do you confuse an earthquake with a robbery?

stuff falling off shelves in the other room.

if you don't live in earthquake country, it's not bound to be the first thing you suspect.

they don't always start off really intense either. I've been through one where I thought the person next to me was kicking my chair. a few seconds later, when the water was sloshing out of the pool, I caught on.

learn 2 door-jam imo.

m1rr0r dash 02.27.2008 08:23 PM

i slept through an earthquake like that in atlanta one time.

my ex shook me awake, likewise thinking someone had broken in. apparently i rolled over, looked at her and said, "iss ok, honey. iss juss an eaarfquaa--," falling back asleep with my mouth open.

I slept through this earthquake, and I was sleeping on the floor.

Just heard about this on the news. Didn't think it'd be too big.

Mrs. Butcher 02.28.2008 08:11 AM

I was lying in bed in the dark listening to Masonna and I thought the world was ending.

NWRA 02.28.2008 08:27 AM

It shaked the house for 10 seconds and woke me up.

It was so traumatising it turned my hair totally white (it turned back to normal a second later). And I'm now gay too.

I'm blaming it all on Prince Philip and MI5. I'm vowing never to sleep again until the former is dead.

Yeah somehow it survived :p

The news was quite funny, showing the 'aftermath' of the weakest earthquake ever. Shaky footage of disappointed looking old men in Hull sweeping up the remains of their chimney pots that had fallen from their rooves..

Good times!

Mrs. Butcher 02.28.2008 09:12 AM

yeah the local paper displaying a blurred photograph and the caption "this is what the earthquake would have looked like had it happened during daytime".

floatingslowly 02.28.2008 09:48 AM

5.2 can shake you pretty good (depending upon the soil yr foundation rests on).
