Thurston.....Les Paul?
I just don't see Thurston playing a Les Paul...
It doesn't suit him.. anyone? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dF5Nx...eature=related |
It's to stop him from skronking. The man has little restraint.
|
He played one through the entire NYC Ghosts tour!
|
I don't like Les Pauls. My impression of any modern musician playing a Les Paul is that he/she has nothing new to offer and is simply rehashing classic rock. Thurston should never play one.
Of course, I realize this is a completely baseless position on my part. |
I like playing heavy Melvins-esque rock on Les Pauls.

It is odd him playing a Les Paul. It just looks weird to me too. He does seem quite at home playing the Maruader though. I don't know why it's strange, they have almost the exact same body shape.
![]() vs. ![]() The Les Paul just looks too puny. (Big ups to CL for the pics) |
He seems a lot slimmer in the first picture.
|
Les Pauls look so much better when they're in different colours, instead of the sunburst and black ones. I have a white one.
|
yeah, hes ano!
then i must become ano too |
Yes! White Les Paul's are my favourite. Death & the Maiden, do you have a Gibson or Epiphone?

anyway, yes they have several les paul, yes they have used the min several songs. just check chris lawrence site, there's even info about that guitar. This guitar was reportedly borrowed for use on SY's July 18th 2000 appearance on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", performing Nevermind. Supposedly Thurston's maroon Les Paul was unavailable so they rented a "real" Les Paul -- which Thurston liked so much, he purchased a new Les Paul for himself for the west coast July 2000 tour. However, the matching "Terrence & Philip" stickers on Lee and Thurston's guitars for this performance are curious... haha, i guess this explains the t & p stickers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOIdUJLAQTs |
i think it looks pretty cool on him!
|
No matter what ya put in T's hands he can make it sound good.
