A little experiment
 

Pick up a style or genre of music and explain what they are as shortly as you can. Don't even think of using google to copy and paste because plagiarism can be easily tracked down. Possibly, and for the love of humanity, do not come up with ''glitch-shoegaze'' shit because that is the work of bedroom journalism with an internet connection.

I have oft tried to define what has to be the worst musical genre ever conceived. I think I've got there.

TRIP-HOP
Rhymeless, but not exclusively, downtempo hip-hop.

Britpop revival - Ageless shit

FOREST-FOLK
bunch of drugged out hippies banging pots and pans out there in the godforsaken wilderness, and waiting the wire to write about it.

Free Jazz - boundless improvisation amongst jazz musicians.

nu-metal (pr. ˈnü-ˈme-təl):

An attempt to muster a fondness for a genre that was already bad by creating a version of it that is even worse beyond all imagination.

Prog (not progressive)

a faster, more aggressive style of experimental, classical-influenced music sometimes combined with Latin, Dub, or Fusion.

hardcore- faster and more angry punk rock.

IDM - Intelligent Dance Music

power violence, too many blast beats to be hardcore, not enough to be grindcore, distinct noise influence

noise-rock:

Dudes (some small number of whom are female) jacking off with guitars.

pop-punk: trying really hard to be pop, but sucking at it.

Post-punk - an extension of punk. More experimental.

Jazz: spunk.

Scat singing: skittely doo wat shoo beet bat doo wat

Industrial - using unconventional and found objects/instruments to create music, often for an acquired taste.
