one of my favorite directors, jules dassin died today (unless its some cruel april fools joke. he was responsible for a number of brilliant films including rififi, which is one of my all time favorites
any other fans?

oh man. sad news. topkapi is like one of my vivid childhood memories, they had it on tv and i was "wowww". anyway i don't think it's an april fools joke, as he was 96 (though the article spells "Daffin" in one instance). i didnt know he had made naked city also, but i love that movie.

i guess everybody has to go. he had an interesting life and a hot wife, so i'd say a life worth living!
