The underdog 80's coming of age movie- The Explorers
 

Sure, everyone talks about Goonies and Stand By Me, but I really really love the Explorers just as much. It has Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix, plus aliens that sing rock and roll songs!

Oh god, I'd totally forgotten about that peice of shit. Ha ha oh man.

EDIT: Just kidding. I looked it up. I've seen it twice.

I liked it up until the end, which was SO STUPID. I was the same age as the actors when that came out (give or take), and saw it in the theater in its original release. I thought the ending was stupid then too.
Does anybody else think the fat kid alien looks a little like Andy Kaufman in that movie?

He sort of does. Never thought of that.

Oh my god, I fell in love with this movie from the first moment i laid eyes on it. Every boy's ultimate adventure/dream. Ethan Hawke would later reprise the same role, albeit in a more grown-up fashion, in Gattaca.
