Old Jams From My Band

Here are some tracks from my band that my bandmate/longtime friend just got digitalized from our old tapes. Again, I play drums. The first 5 tracks are all from a live show in 1998 and the others (minus Death Valley) are weird basement freak outs from 1996.

Get Used and Guidelines are borderline hardcore songs while the others are wandering jams that are "droney/noisey/spacey" and at times even kind of no wavey....I think a lot of you guys will dig it.

We became more of a fast punk band when our guitar player (Garrett's older brother) moved away to college and my friend Travis joined the band. The 2 sets of tracks are kind of like 2 completely different bands. The sound quality is surprisingly good.....sounds really nice through headphones.

1. Get Used
2. Guidelines For Wheelchairs (also added is this insane breakdown from the end of our set where the mic is passed around in the crowd with people screaming over a System of a Down song.....System were cool there for a minute)
3. Teenagers From Mars - The Misfits
4. Commando - The Ramones (so fun to play live!)
5. I am the Fly - Wire

6. Death Valley 96 - SY
7. (Which Is) Witch's Cat?
8. Climbing the Clouds (Shadows of the Last Hour)
9. Eleven
10. Where to Go?
11. We Like Rocks (our live closer back then....strobe light and all)

I zipped these files in this order, so hopefully they'll show up that way. If not, I'd prob. put them in the above order when listening.

Check it out!!! Point and click!!

What did you guys think??

PS - Don't be turned off by how young I was on these......there is rockage.

I have this stored in a portable HD I forgot to a friend of mine's house :(. She should bring it back today (can't download stuff from here). She brings the sexy back, too.

Right on.

Aaaaah, that wood block snare sound in the live songs! :D
I really like the energy, your "originals" are pretty hard stuff in the first part (but with a sort of enjoyable joy added)
I like better "Side B" overall,
(which is)... is great, it's like your "automatic lock" :D
climbing... is more "dark" in a ATL like way
eleven is pretty cool too, maybe a bit "jammy", sounds like it hasn't a "definite" direction
where to go is chill out a bit like SY's "shoot" (oh, these sy mentions come to mind also coz we're on their forum, not just for the possible similarities)
we like rocks is joy division drunk (keyb?? ultracool).
you were so damn young.

just to clarify, those are compliments.

nicfit 04.17.2008 03:30 PM

bump?:D

krastian 04.17.2008 04:13 PM

Thanks a lot for the compliments!! Glad you enjoyed the songs.

I love to rock.
