i was hangin out wit my dad last weekend and he had just gotten it, i personally dont like it at all. its to rock-ish, ive always liked rem most when they were at their poppiest, reckoning, automatic for the people, murmur, out of time.
|
it's the best they've done in years.
Mr. Richards is worth the record alone. |
I downloaded the album, can't wait till Friday when it is payday, and I go to buy it.
|
the album is pretty good. and ima rem admirer from a distance. its no document or dead letter office or green but i like it, maybe because its short!
|
Houston is my favorite off the album. Very Johnny Cash like.
|
its a good sound. back to their cool 80s sound.
i like |
theres no doubt its the best theyve done adventures in hi fi, but i still dont think its great.
|
Ok after many re-listens this is one of their best albums/better albums at least.
|
Sounds good! I may actuAlly BUY this album! Last one I bought was Green. automatic for the people was good but my friend heath played it so much I did not feel like I needed to own it, although Nightswimming is a GREAT song to commit slow suicide to.

Nope, heath hayner

Well, at least they sound like R.E.M. again. For me, it's their best album since Up......I love Up. It's way better than Around the Sun for sure.....I give it 3 stars. The people that say it's the best R.E.M. album ever seriously need to lay off the rock.
The one question I have is why in the fuck did Peter Buck allow that giant piece of shit, I'm Gonna DJ, on the album let alone as the closer?!? They were playing it live their last tour too......fucking horrible. ![]() "Worst....R.E.M. song....ever." |
Quote:
I also love 'Up'. And, I agree, 'I'm Gonna DJ' is shit. There is no justification for it being on the record at all. |
Like, it's too horrible even for a B-side or a fan club only release......God awful on several levels.
|
Accelerate is about what I expected...no great shakes. I however do agree that it's their best in awhile, since New Adventures in Hi-Fi maybe; then again, I liked Reveal okay too.
