Napalm Deaf - Merzbow (wow) live...
Yeah so last night I saw Merzbow live, it was fucking incredible, though a really physically exausting experience. But the man himself was on top form, and I managed to pick up an exclusive free Merzbow CD and bought a ltd. edition picture disc of his. Unfortunately, my freind cancelled on me so I was on my own, but I drank myself beyond caring, and its not like I wanted him to see me cry - ha! One old punk dude with G.G. Allin written on the back of his jacket picked up on my SY t-shirt, and then proceeded to invite me to sleep with his wife and piss and defocate on his grave. This was just one of the assorted bunch of freaks that was the crowd, they were all very nice though. I really reccomend you see Merzbow live if you havn't, theres really nothing quite like it...

Absolutely man, absolutely. |
haha I kept waiting for napalm death to be mentioned, and then I re-read the thread title.
But yeah, merzbow rules. I've survived the merzbox. It's alright. |
rad

Saw him on Friday. I wanted to sleep. Very soothing. Very loud, but very soothing.
I think T&B went to see Merz in London, would be interested to see what he made of it. |
last time i saw him it was so dense and loud it almost made me sleep.
|
i saw that punk gg allin dude too.
anywayz, yeah, it was exactly as excellent as i hoped it would be, but in ways i hadn't anticipated, there was one bloke standing next to me dancing away, whilst it wasn't funky enough for me to want to dance i could understand that guy's urge because i found that the gradual effect of music was quite joyful, and peaceful in it's intent (in comparison to sutcliffe jugend (supporting) who were your typical 80s antagonistic noise stuff, enjoyable but not amazing or anything) anyway, i saw a young chap running around in a red sonic nurse shirt... i presume that was you TINH? Two other things, the crowd was a lot older than i'd expected and larger than i'd expected, filled with aging goths & industrialoids. And also i met a girl, where better a place to meet a girl than at a merzbow show? |
hahaha, adam, yesterday i told a dude about you listening to the whole merzbox in two weeks.
yeah, can't wait to see masami live. i saw another japanese phenomenon that's basically my favorite live band or at least in my top three. |

Dense, that's the perfect word. Like a big doughy cake of sound. |

or some nougat. |
Haha. Yeah, I listened to it in 2 weekeneds. Two Sat-Sun marathons.

That was, indeed, me. You should have worn an SY t shirt cos I thought you were there. You met a girl? Who'd you go for, an ageing punk, a peirced cyber-goth or a chick who looked like a labotamy patient (only kidding). I still need to listen to my free CD, you also got free entry to Slimelight with your Merzbow ticket, wish I'd taken advantage of that. Glad you had a good time dude. |

Yes. Precisely right again. Because then those little hard bits of nuts would represent the little widdly bits of noise over the nougat-noise. |

essentially thats correct. i only mentioned that because some bastard child of satan wiped his nougat layden hands on my coat on the bus the other day. perhaps i should not have been listening to merzbow too loud. |
