Final Research Report

So I'm doing my final english research report on the Byronic hero. I'm relating the characteristics of the Byronic hero to some musicians. The musicians I'm going to use are Nick Drake, Elliot Smith, Kurt Cobain, and Jimi Hendrix.

For those that don't know, this is the Byronic hero, from wikipedia.

A theme that pervades much of Byron's work is that of the Byronic hero, an idealized but flawed character whose attributes may include:
  • having conflicting emotions, bipolar tendencies, or moodiness
  • self-critical and introspective
  • struggles with integrity
  • having a distaste for social institutions and social norms
  • being an exile, an outcast, or an outlaw
  • a lack of respect for rank and privilege
  • having a troubled past
  • being cynical, demanding, and/or arrogant
  • often self-destructive
  • troubles with sexual identity (but can be heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, asexual, or of repressed sexuality)
  • loner, often rejected from society
Can you guys give me some characteristics that the mentioned musicians have that relate to the characteristics of the Byronic hero and give me examples of that characteristic in the musician/s. I'm pretty much done, it's due in 2 days, and I even have too much info. But someone might have a good suggestion I can use.

Not sure about Jimi Hendrix being a loner... He's quite the party animal I think. Kurt Cobain once beat up a bouncer at his concert who was being rough with the crowd. He smashed his guitar into the guy's face; who subsequently hurled him into a guitar amplifier. He also sprayed 'Ain'tgotnowhatchamacllit' on his high school walls, when he was a kid. Got thrown out of home when his mom walked in on him losing his virginity.

Yeah, I got cobain's bio, Heavier that Heaven, for this report and I read all of that suff in it. I finished it in 6 days. That's the fastest I've ever finished a book. It's a pretty good book. I'd say it's essential if you're a hardcore Nirvana fan.

I read Heavier than heaven back in 7th grade when I was still into Nirvana, it's a good read if you're a fan. Kurt's life actually was pretty interesting. I did a report on it too, twas a peice of cake.
