Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds US Tour

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds announce U.S. tour

April 29, 2008 12:08 p.m. by Nick Neyland

It’s been a while since Nick Cave hauled his Bad Seeds over the Atlantic Ocean for a full-scale tour. Grinderman made a few appearances supporting the White Stripes and there was a brief headline set from the band at this year’s Plug Awards. But the U.S. was omitted from the schedule to promote 2004’s Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus, meaning we haven’t had the full-on Bad Seeds experience since the tour undertaken to support 2003’s Nocturama. In the meantime Cave has released a live album and DVD, written the screenplay and soundtrack for John Hillcoat’s The Proposition, produced the Grinderman and Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! albums, and scored the excellent Brad Pitt/Casey Affleck feature The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

Ok, dude has been busy. Very busy. So we should be thankful that he’s gracing us with his presence. It’s going to be a long wait though, as the just-announced U.S. leg of the Lazarus tour won’t be with us until September, starting with a date in San Diego and ending up in Washington, D.C. on October 5. While all this is unfolding, Cave is even finding time in his schedule to tour with Grinderman and score another Hillcoat movie--his adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. Full U.S. tour dates below.

09.17 Los Angeles, CA: Hollywood Bowl

i kinda wish grinderman would be cave's main focus from here on out. i mean, theres been soo many damn bad seeds ablums, and a lotta them have been subpar. grinderman was fucking amazing, why wouldnt he just make that his main focus?

nevertheless, cave will always be my hero.

grinderman was better that anything the bad seeds have done since maybe 98 or so, in my opinion.
