takes too much time to produce the amount of food you will actually eat, unless of course you happen to have a spare acre or too to cultivate, further fruit in particular is a ten year investment, most trees take at least five years to produce anything sizeable harvest, and on top of it all, a lot of backyard boogie fruit is about as seedy as backyard boogie weed, and like my herbs I prefer my fruit sensimilla!

alotments are in quite a few towns and cities in england. i used to know a few people who had them and although they were very hard work they produced quite a bit of stuff, admitely not enough to live on unless you worked on it day and night.
