Look Who's Reuniting Now

All the way from the grimy bars of texas it's THE BUTTHOLE SURFERS.

Yes, you heard me right, THE BUTTHOLE SURFERS have decided to jump in on the reunion wave of alt rock bands.

Better yet they will be touring this summer and writing a new record. For these shows, Jeff Pinkus will be on bass and Teresa Taylor (along with King Coffey) on drums. This is the rhythm section the band had for most of the 80s and marks the first time this line up has played together since 1989.

Paul Leary has prior commitments and unfortunately can't play the European dates (he will be on stage for the New York City show and possibly more stateside).

Joining the band onstage for all shows in the US and Europe will be The Paul Green School of Rock All-Stars. This mob of teenage geniuses will blow your mind, forming a virtual Butthole Surfers Orchestra when they play with Gibby and crew.

I am quite excited.

Hope this Green School of Rock thing isn't a ruiner.

Toilet & Bowels 05.12.2008 04:16 PM

the butthole surfers had lost it by the time they split there's no resaon to believe they'll magically be back to their 80s heyday

Like so many of these bands reforming, they were way way way past their best when they split. I'm fortunate enough to have seen them in their heyday.

PAULYBEE2656 05.13.2008 08:15 AM

do you know who should reform.. the original mercury rev with shady baker on meanderings! that would be worth watching...............
