classic albums, atsonicpark edition # 29: snakefinger - greener postures
![]() SNAKEFINGER "GREENER POSTURES" RALPH, 1980 Catchy, bizarre, overly-effected, abstract, complex, colorful, intelligent.. a masterpiece of catchy songwriting and weird melodies. Like Helios Creed meets the Residents (which should come as no surprise since the Residents guest on a couple of songs). All of his albums are good but this one totally stnads out as a "classic". |
|
i recently heard about them and was on my way to checking some of their stuff.

I'd be shocked if you didn't like it.
It's like the residents doing 70's prog with helios creed and king crimson doodling around in the background. |
omg dude, i love snakefinger, not many know how he was a huge influence on boredoms as well. such a great fucking guitar player.

Citronella by Aesop Rock is based on a sample of Snakefinger's version of Smelly Tongues.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQnYW...eature=related I'll have to check that album out, I only have Chewing Hides the Sound and a few other bits & pieces. Thanks for the recommendation. |
whoa, i didnt know about this one.
quite good indeed. thanks! |
No problem, I personally love all of his albums, and I love his weird guitar tone... how does he get that sound? It has to be a pitchshifter right?
|
I like Manual of Errors better; granted, however, that I discovered his solo work because of this thread and aquired two of his albums (the aforementioned and Greener Postures).
You Sliced Up My Wife has kept me content for a couple days now. |
My favorite song is I LOVE MARY.
