I Got My Teaching Assistantship

This is awesome. I am now officially being paid to go to school. I just thought I'd share--this is a big deal for me. No more loans, no more tuition. Sweet.

I'm going to be a TA next year for the freshman music theory class. I'm going to be the coolest TA ever.

well done

qprogeny79 05.26.2006 04:17 PM

excellent stuff. are you a grad student in music? where are you studying?

Glice 05.26.2006 04:20 PM

Score. Good work that chap. It's especially nice to hear it from someone who isn't the usual died-in-the-wool traditionalist suckup academic. More like you need f/t jobs.

acousticrock87 05.26.2006 04:24 PM

Awesome. Music theory, too. I would do well to take your class. Good job.

A hearty congratulations.

If you were my TA, I'd totally be hitting on you.

krastian 05.26.2006 05:07 PM

You lucky bastid. Good job bro.

Hip Priest 05.26.2006 05:21 PM

Great news. I'm really pleased for you - congratulations. Some of your posts have made me think about music more than I had, and I know that you're pasionate about it, so it sounds great.

Well done noumenal!

Yes, I'm studying music theory. I'm starting my second (last) year of a master's program this Fall. I'm at LSU right now. I went to Vanderbilt for my undergrad. I look at LSU as a stepping stone of sorts--I changed my major going in. Anyway, I'll be applying to PhD programs soon and hopefully I'll get in somewhere awesome.

Get ready? I've been living it and loving it for years. And actually, I'll be better off financially with the assistanship.

congrats! I know how good that feels!

I recently got accepted to be an assistant in France, helping student teachers that will be teaching English. It's the most exciting thing that's happened to me.

Way to go, man! whoop whoop!
